One of the greatest gifts we can give our children is the opportunity to experience music through playing, singing, dancing, and recognizing musical concepts.
I believe that students deserve the opportunity to not only learn music but love music and appreciate music from their ancestry as well as other cultures.
I have eight years of teaching experience. The first three years was in the Fayette County School District in Lexington, KY as an elementary General Music, Band and Chorus Teacher. The last five years I have had the pleasure to teach General Music and Chorus at R.O. Nelson Elementary School in Newport News, VA. I love teaching music. I especially love impacting children and helping them develop into beautiful human beings who can have a positive effect on our world. My strengths as a teacher include designing and implementing lesson plans, creating a safe and creative classroom environment, using technology, and assessment.
